Pokemon Online review

This is so cool! It is like the usual pokemon game but this allows you to battle with pokemon trainers (other players) from around the world! :D

I've not yet tested the game, but I already know that it'll be extremely fun. :P

How to change the canvas / artboard size in Adobe Illustrator

Surprisingly, it took me quite awhile to find a guide for this... because I was searching for 'canvas size' (since Adobe Photshop refers that background as a 'canvas') but the actual term in Adobe Illustrator is 'artboard' lol...

Anyway, here's the steps:

1. File -> Document setup
2. Click Edit artboard
3. Then, you should notice that the borders of your artboard become expandable. You can choose to zoom out a bit before making the artboard bigger or smaller (by dragging the edges).

That's it lol! I don't believe that this information is not more easily available to nabs (first-time Illustrator users) like me :P

Have fun!

If you still need a pictorial guide or something, just post a comment saying so and I'll see what I can do :)

How to save your images up to 300 dpi

I know that some journals are very particular about the resolution of the images that you've submitted to them. They just won't accept powerpoint slides as images. Hence, in order to fulfill their requirement of 300 dpi images, you can do the following stuff - however, do note that this is not for the faint hearted... something might go wrong and you'll regret that you've ever tried this.

However, I can confidently say that I've tried this method for PowerPoint 2010 and it works perfectly!

So, you've constructed your diagrams on powerpoint and wanted to export them as 300 dpi images (regardless of the format of the images)... how? Check the following steps out:

Step 1: Change the export resolution setting

1. Exit all Windows-based programs.
2. Click Start, and then click Run.
3. In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
4. Locate one of the following registry subkeys, depending on the version of PowerPoint that you're
using:
PowerPoint 2013
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\PowerPoint\Options

PowerPoint 2010
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\PowerPoint\Options

PowerPoint 2007
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\PowerPoint\Options
5. Click the Options subkey, point to New on the Edit menu, and then click DWORD Value.
6. Type ExportBitmapResolution, and then press Enter.
7. Make sure that ExportBitmapResolution is selected, and then click Modify on the Edit menu.
8. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, click Decimal.
9. In the Value data box, type the value of the resolution that you want such as 300. (The maximum limit for PowerPoint is 307 dpi though)
10. Click OK.
11. On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.

You should be able to export images in whatever format you like at 300 dpi.

State of Decay game review

Okay, so I haven't actually written the game review and that I've played the game during Jan of this year so I might be a bit rusty when it comes to details. All I know is that it's a brilliant zombie survival game with randomly generated maps and awesome graphics.

I'll write a more detailed one when I've completed my thesis, papers and part-time workloads. :)

So for now, I've got screenshots to sate your appetite :P

You can buy the game on Amazon here.

6 things to do when there is a haze in your area

There's a heavy blanket of haze over at my place and it's probably because (as it is the same every time) of forest burning to clear land for farming at the Sumatera.

Anyway, you often see notices (by the health ministry or some NGO) that list out 6 things that you mustn't do during a hazy day. Now to eliminate boredom, here's 10 things that you can do during hazy days (in no particular order).

1. Play hide-and-seek with your own hands.

2. Decorate each other's face masks. The winner with the best decorated face mask gets a brand new box of face masks.

3. Collect dust particles from the air using a damp tissue

4. Play I-Spy with friends/ family members to try to make out shapes/objects in the haze through your house's window.

5. Sell face masks at elevated prices... ... online.

6. Compare how dusty each other's houses have become after a day (houses were cleaned before the start of the competition)

Okay 6 is enough coz I've run out of ideas, but of course, there are plenty to do that doesn't involve going out, like gaming your eyeballs out. Feel free to be creative about what you can do during very hazy days and if you've thought of a particularly silly or funny one, post them in the comments below.

Disclaimer: This is a lame attempt of mine at creating humour. If you're offended in any way, I sincerely apologize for being my-lame-self.

Disney Infinity: Toy Box review

Written this review for a review website. This game is so amazing that I couldn't help but to post this up here :) Enjoy!

Also, check out the introduction here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEC2_kuV17k
(It might not seem much but of course, if you play it yourself, then it would be absolutely magical! :) )

Lastly, before the review starts, check out screenshots of my ultimate race track here:

(I'll add more screenshots from my race track when I get the time :P)

A magical game created by the masters in surreal animation for classic children's stories :) (I'm not even sure if that makes sense lol :P). In short though, it's absolutely amazing. You get to play as different Disney characters and build your very own 'virtual playground' or if you're a bit lazy, you can play their many adventures available! It's a free game (free to download and play) - however, there are some limitations - like only 1 free character (Mr Incredibles) for you to play with and that you'll have to buy other playsets to unlock new characters.

Theory of a Deadman - In Ruins

One of the best songs as well :)

Lyrics:

I’m tryna pick up the pieces
My flag waving, undefeated
Leaving wounds like a battlefield
Too many wounds, we can’t heal

Now I think we realize
We were seen through blind eyes
This was always gonna happen
So why we so sad then?

Now it’s all gone, after we move on
What a disaster, there’s nothing after
Swept of our feet, with nothing underneath
Oh, we had it all but now we watch it fall
Faaaaaall, (in ruins) now we watch you fall
Faaaaaall, (in ruins) now we’re in ruins

It’s been so long since this made sense
Cause now it’s ending senseless
It’s been so long since it was alright
Thought I have you my whole life

And now our dreams are so sweet
We only talk when we’re fighting
We were due from the beginning
We don’t get a happy ending

Now it’s all gone, after we move on
What a disaster, there’s nothing after
Swept of our feet, with nothing underneath
Oh, we had it all but now we watch it fall
Faaaaaall, (in ruins) now we watch you fall
Faaaaaall, (in ruins) now we’re in ruins

Will I give up, will I give in?
Will I surrender.. to it?
We were strong now, strong enough
We lost our love, still undone

Now it’s all gone, after we move on
What a disaster, there’s nothing after
Swept of our feet, with nothing underneath
Oh, we had it all but now we watch it fall
Faaaaaall, (in ruins) now we watch you fall
Faaaaaall, (in ruins) now we’re in ruins

Will I give up? Will I give in?
Will I surrender.. to it?
We were strong now, strong enough
We lost our love, still undone
