Which Warcraft Race Are You?

The quiz isn't very subtle in its attempt to narrow the list of Warcraft Races down to one. Regardless, it's still nice to know that I should have played as an undead all along :P

Harry Potter's House Sorting Quiz

I'm sorted to Ravenclaw. Well, technically I'm only around 73% Ravenclaw but that's damning enough :P

Who would have thought? I thought I'll be grouped in Hufflepuff or something.

Anyways, you can take the Harry Potter's House Sorting Quiz here: http://time.com/4809884/harry-potter-house-sorting-hat-quiz/

Have fun and don't forget to share your results below! :)

Discover Your Patronus on Pottermore

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan, especially considering that I grew up with the series (and the actors), so naturally, when I spotted this quiz, I simply had to take it. Here's the link for you fellas who can't wait to take the quiz: http://adf.ly/1eE9ZR (Being a content writer = not rich enough to buy a home to call my own. Please lend me around 15 seconds of your time to wait awhile and click Skip Ad :) )

However, I'm a bit disappointed with the result since what I got was.... wait for it.... Look below!

Yes... a bleeding hedgehog. Sigh. Had hoped for something more impressive :P

Anyway, I've went a bit further and googled up "Hedgehog, patronus" and I found this!

PATRONUS ANALYSIS: 023. THE HEDGEHOG
The first impression of an individual with a hedgehog patronus can be very deceiving. On the outside, they can first appear happy-go-lucky and kind, as well as slightly naive. They are optimistic individuals in the way they want to be happy and have the feeling rub off on others, but this is not who they are completely. Rather, they actually have a tough personality to them, and have the ability to fight and defend themselves. Do not take the for weaklings, because they certainly are not, and are much more perceptive than they appear. The most common house for a hedgehog patronus is Hufflepuff. The most common signs are Cancer and Sagittarius.

Well, I'm not sure about the "fighting and defending" part - I haz no self-defence training... pls don't assault me! - but the analysis is generally correct to some point. I do present a happy-go-lucky appearance because sometimes, I just feel like I don't want to care (but I can't - I would make a really bad superheroine since I'll proly be weighted down by doubts and guilt almost all the time).

I like to think that I'm tough - who doesn't? - and can handle anything and everything, but I'm pretty sure, deep down, that I can't. One thing's for sure though - I would not go down quietly.

Anyway, that's enough about me, what about you? Which patronus did you get? I would love to know... wait, if you got the unicorn, don't tell me... I would get super-salty... nah, just kidding!

Here's the link again for you interested people out there: http://adf.ly/1eE9ZR  (you just need to wait a few seconds and click Skip Ad, thanks! :) )

Do tell me... I'm very curious to know.... aannnndddd if there are any other hedgehogs out there, let's get together some time (points at my Facebook link on the right)! :)

Other Ways to Say...

Found this on Facebook and well, being a writer, knowing more than 1 way to express something is very important, so I'm "keeping" it here for easy reference :P

Enjoy!

Quibblo - Quiz creator

There are plenty of quiz-creating online software freely available on the internet, however, I find Quibblo being the best of them all. Why?

Well, interestingly, once you finish the quiz, Quibblo will show you not only the answers, it will also show the statistics of each answer. For example, there are A to D answers for the question, you'll get to see how many people (in actual figures and percentage) who answered A and B and so on and so forth. It's pretty interesting.

Here's the link: http://www.quibblo.com/create

Have fun! :)

I'll put a quiz here as a demo - for you to test it out ;)

Word Count Tools

Fun stuff! Unlike other word count tools that I've used, some of which are pretty darn awesome, but this tool won the top prize for being amazingly comprehensive.

I've never known anything about "readability" until I posted something up for word counting on this site... and it told me that my writing can be easily understood by people with a college education and above. And then there's the Dale-Chall readability score. Seriously, I've learned loads from the stats and it's rather fun to know what level my writing is :P

Here's a nifty screenshot of the stats of one of my game reviews. :P

Very interesting stuff :)

If you have anything that you've written... an essay, an article or any written work, do paste it in teh box below and try it out. :) Find out more about your writing style!

Myers Briggs Personality Comparisons

How would you compare with famous characters from Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek and Marvel's Comics? :D

Alright to start, you have to fist take a Myers Briggs test - here's a nifty link for you to do the test for free!

Here's my results - INTP... as usual lol :P

Introverted individuals prefer solitary activities, think before speaking, get exhausted by social interactions.

Intuitive individuals are imaginative, absorbed in ideas, rely on their intuition, focus on what might happen

Thinking individuals are tough, follow their minds, focus on objectivity and rationality

Prospecting individuals are relaxed about their work, very good at improvising, prefer keeping their options open and seek freedom - (that's why I enjoyed doing freelancing so much? I should have taken up computer science when I had the chance lol... aiks!)

T

Turbulent individuals are perfectionists, self-conscious, success-driven, care about their image. (This is new... I think the test didn't have this when I did my test years ago :P)

Okay, well, once you have your own personality test result, you can then compare it with the posters below. Click on the images to enlarge them!

Disclaimer: Credits for these images go to the respective owners and creators of these images. I do not own any of these stuff. Just saying!

To my "broken" heart's surprise, I didn't get Legolas... *cries* (nah, I'm not THAT upset... a little though :P). However, getting Gandalf is pretty good :D "You're a witch, Aveyn"

(If you can't get the reference, well, you really need to brush up on your memes :P - go ahead and google "you're a wizard, Harry")

Unsurprisingly, I get Hermoine xD I've always identified myself as her ever since I've started reading Harry Potter... Harry may have all the heroic burdens and the responsibilities that come with those burdens, Hermoine is the logical one in the group, most of the time anyway! :)

I don't know any of the Marvel heroes in the INTP group except Dr Reed Richards... (fail?) hehe. Well, I don't know enough about him, except that one Fantastic 4 movie that I've watched when I was young, to comment anything. So meh.... moving on!

Yoda, I am! xD

Zombies and human

I've heard something very funny today - thought I'd share :P

So there was this group of 5 or 6 Malay kids at the playground and they were deciding among themselves what to play. Then, one of them pipped up saying "Mari kita main zombie and orang!" (Let's play 'zombies and human'!). After they selected the person to play as the human, the group of kids started chasing after the 'human' in a zombie-like fashion. xD

... When I was little, I played cops and robbers, but now, time has changed I guess :P

How many colours can you see?

Given that THE dress went viral (and I got caught up with it coz it's science lol! It's amazing :) ), I thought you guys may appreciate this test.

Note that your computer may affect how many colours can be seen in this test. My laptop works rather fine - there's 2-3 colours that I can hardly see the difference... except when I look at both strips in the middle, I can see a clear line (due to contrasting colours) separating them.

Look at the picture below carefully and see how many different strips of colours you can differentiate! (Click on the picture to enlarge it)

Remember - Don't peek at the analysis below before you've completed the test!

Click into the pic to see the larger version!
Credits to Derval Research for the pic.

If you can see...

  1. 20 colours - You are a dichromat (2 types of cone cells in your eye) and you are among the 25%. You prefer black, beige and blue.
  2. 20-32 colours - You are a trichromat (3 types of cone cells in your eye) and you are among the 50%. You can appreciate a range of different colours.
  3. 33 - 39 colours - You are a tetrachromat (4 types of cone cells in your eye) and you are among the last 25%. You can appreciate a range of different colours, but may seem to be irritated by yellow [Not true for me, I don't like yellow shirts but I still wear them]

I saw 39 colours in the test, what about you? :)

The 2nd Annual Cookie-Making Safety Meeting Report

A round of applause for everyone involved! This year, we had a record of 0 burns for every one of our members. It's really great to see everybody here exercising caution and is aware of their own safety when making cookies for CNY.

Since the main objective of the safety meeting has been reached, it is safe to say that this meeting may no longer be needed for the following years. Thus, I'm going to disband this meeting in earnest. I'm honoured to chair the second and last meeting!

Note: To clear up any confusion in regard to the years reported, the 2011 report is for the CNY in 2012; the 2012 report is for the CNY in 2013 while the 2013 report is for the CNY in 2014. However, since the CNY in 2015 is in mid of February, our cookie-making sessions are delayed accordingly.

Pipette tip problems

If you work in a lab, you will definitely have some of these problems on a daily basis or perhaps weekly basis (depending how much time you spend in the lab actually doing work lol :P)

Anyway, this is just something to cheer up all the lab workers! Enjoy! :)

Kuku kube - test your eyesight

Note: You'll need a good enough computer for this :)

Test your eyesight by clicking the different shade of colour in a group of colours in Kuku kube. You gotta choose fast and accurately.

Can you spot the different shaded cube yet? This is fairly obvious :) But you got to choose fast in order to get a high score!

Ready for the challenge? Click here to find out! Feel free to post your scores in the comment below... and I'll get the ball rolling by saying that my best score is 24 (I've played it only once lol :P).

So... what's yours? :)

Feel free to also share your score on Facebook, Twitter or any social media using the hashtag #kukukube. Enjoy!~

Update!

Here's another Kuku kube-like test that you can try - it is more forgiving than Kuku kube and provides an easy way for you to share your score on Facebook.

As you can see, I did rather badly :P when you didn't have enough sleep, well, this stuff happens.
