How to Delete Multiple Postcards at Once in PokemonGO?

Thanks - or should I say, "no thanks"? - to the release of the Vivillon, all of us have been filling up our Postcard slots very very quickly, sometimes with postcards that we don't really want to keep.

Instead of having to delete all of them one by one, you can actually delete a bunch of them at once.

I thought this is common knowledge among PoGo players but apparently, it's not, so I thought I should make a simple how-to blog to shine a light on this super useful feature.

1. Go to your Postcards collection
2. Long press on any postcard you want to delete and then select everything else that you want to delete as well.
3. Press the Remove button at the bottom once you're done... or if you want to exit without deleting anything, simply press the "X" at the top.
4. Note that a selected postcard can be removed from the list of postcards selected simply by pressing on it once.

That's about it. Hope this helps :)

Oh and good luck on your Vivillon hunt ;)

Pokemon Go: How to Get Gorebyss and Huntail?

Well, first of all, you'll definitely want to get a Clamperl and have 50 Clamperl candy - that's the no-brainer part. However, I'm pretty sure I've figured out how you can "force" Clamperl's evolution to go the way you want.

Note that although I'm pretty confident of my findings, I've only have so many chances to test it, so here goes!

As you may know, Clamperl evolution is supposedly "random" but I suspect it's not as random as it appears. Unlike eevolutions that have a name trick to help you get the evolved eevee you want, there isn't a name trick for Clamperl either.

So here's the big reveal - I'm pretty sure that your Clamperl will evolve into Huntail or Gorebyss depending on the GENDER of your PLAYER and NOT the gender of the Clamperl.

Pokemon Go trainers using the female avatar will mostly get Gorebyss - as evident in my case since I'm playing a female character, while male avatars will mostly get Huntail - as evident in my boyfriend's case.

Note that there's still a chance for the respective gender to get the other gender's evolution but the chance of that happening is very, very low.... hence, the word "mostly". This also probably explain why scores of players keep getting the same evolution over and over again - you can't change your avatar's gender!

So, in order to get the other gender's evolution, you will need to either...
1. Have a ton of Clamperl and the corresponding candy to evolve them all (low chance)
2. OR just trade for one from a player playing the opposing gender or from anyone with the evolution you want (very high chance)

Hope this helps!

Pokemon Go: How to get Smeargle? A Step-by-Step Picture Guide

I'm a bit late to the party but I got my first Smeargle on my first try ^^

That said, here are the steps you'll want to take to get Smeargle. P/S: Click on the images to expand them

1. Find a pokemon you want Smeargle to copy skills from.

It can be any pokemon you want, but if you want it to have the best skill - not that Smeargle has any meta use though , you'll want to use Blissey.

2. View the Pokemon (get into the stats page) and enter AR mode by tapping on the small camera icon on the top right corner.

3. Take a photo of your pokemon and keep an eye out for the number of flashes at the bottom right corner of the screen.

If it flashes 3 times, then Smeargle has photobombed your picture and you can catch it once you exit from your Pokemon Inventory (into the map screen). If you're not sure, tap into the photo preview located at the bottom right corner of the screen and take a look.

Photobombed by Smeargle

4. Smeargle will spawn nearby on your map. Simply tap into it and catch it.
P/S: Since it's a spawn, I think it's still possible for Smeargle to flee. Just in case though, it's best to use a razz berry if you can't spare an ultra ball.

Smeargle will spawn nearby

Voila! Caught it!

Pokemon Go: How to Spot a Shiny Plusle and Minun?

If you haven't caught a Shiny Plusle and Minun yet, you might want to check this visual guide out.

Plusle can be hard to spot if you're not paying attention since a Shiny Plusle has the exact same color scheme as the normal one.

However, if you keep your eyes on the Plusle when you tap into it, you should spot the sparkles (note the screenshot). They will appear briefly right after the game loads into the Pokemon catch screen.

------------
Fun fact: If you exit from the "pokemon catch screen", and tap on the same shiny pokemon again, the pokemon will remain shiny. BUT if another person tap on the same pokemon on the map, he/she might not get a shiny.
------------

Spotting a Shiny Minun is a lot easier. Just tap into every Minun you see and then look for green ears and paws.

You won't be able to spot the green parts from the map though - you actually have to tap on the Minun before you can see whether it is a shiny or not. This is true for all shinies, including the iconic red eyes of a Shiny Aron or the yellow body of a Shiny Swablu.

Last tip: Tap on every Plusle and Minun you see on the map. You'll eventually find a Shiny or two!

Okay, that's about it. Good luck on your hunt! :)

Pokemon GO Evolution and Lucky Egg Tips (Number-Crunching Included)

And yes.... I'm one of those rare fellas who is still playing Pokemon GO to this day, but you gotta understand... Pokemon was the BIGGEST anime of my childhood and I love every bit of it... even including the "spin-off", Digimon :P

Anyway, I've played to a point (not zealously though... just casually, whenever I'm out) where I've started crunching the numbers (because leveling past level 30 is tough AF!) and I thought you might like knowing some of these stuff :) Hope it helps!

So, if you play Pokemon GO, you probably have heard of this trick where you can maximize your XP gain by:

1. Filling your Pokemon bag with "extra", not-yet-evolved Pokemon (Pokemon that you can transfer without hesitating);
Examples: Pidgey, Sentret, Weedle, Venonat... etc Any Pokemon that you can easily catch tons of, and that you have tons of expandable candies to evolve.

2. Using a Lucky Egg which will double all XP gained within 30 mins; and
3. Evolving the heck out of all these extras

This trick obviously work best with Pokemon that you have not discovered the evolved version yet (if that makes sense) since you'll also be doubling the "New Pokemon Discovery" bonus XP, but it's a bit of a win-lose situation though since not everyone has a ton of Pokemon that they have not discovered the evolved version of.

NOTE: You will get 500 XP per evolved Pokemon and 1000 for every newly-discovered evolved Pokemon, so if you have a Lucky Egg on, you will get 1000 and 2000 respectively instead.

Anyway, I did a 30-min experiment just now and I calculated (approximately) how many total XP you can get if you really make full use of the Lucky Egg time that you have. Take note that I didn't have a single new Pokemon discovery during any of these evolutions... just for the sake of the experiment.

Here are some of the stuff I use to help me keep track of the time
- A list of Pokemon that I wanted to evolve just for the XP written down on  a piece of paper so I know which Pokemon I want to evolve and which I want to keep unevolved

Here are some of the rules that I follow during the experiment:
- I did not waste any time transferring any evolved Pokemon
- The Pokemon list is set to A-Z for easy navigating
- I exited from my Pokemon list screen at the 20th minute and at the 29th minute just to make sure that the XP is credited to my character (You can choose to do this only once to save a bit of time, but it can be risky coz you need to exit the screen while your Lucky Egg is still in effect to get the Double XP bonus)
- I also tapped the screen during each evolution in hopes that it'll speed things up - it didn't, really.

Okay, so here are the results:

1. First round
- Time: 20 mins
- Evolved: 50 Pokemon
- Total XP Gained: 50k

2. Second Round
- Time: 9-10 mins (might have wasted a min here because I ran out of extras to evolve. Spend a bit of time scrolling through the Pokemon list)
- Evolved: 23 (might be able to squeeze 1 or 2 more in if I hadn't wasted the 1 min)
- Total XP Gained: 23k

3. IN TOTAL
- Time: 30 mins
- Evolved: 73-74
- Total XP Gained: 73k

4. POTENTIAL TOTAL (if you do everything just right)
- Time: 30 mins
- Evolved: 73 - 75
- Total XP Gained: 73k - 75k

So from this little experiment, you now know that you'll need to prepare at least 75 extra Pokemon for this XP-milking purpose.

Update 17/7/18:
I did another experiment just now and I managed to squeeze in even more evolutions per 30 mins of Lucky Egg time. This was what I got:
- Time: 30 mins
- Evolved: 73 (normal evo) PLUS 3 new evos
- Total XP Gained: 79k

Extra details
- The game takes around 20 seconds per normal evolution.

You're welcome! :) Let me know if this helped ya!

P/S: Don't waste Lucky Egg time by catching Pokemon. You'll be wasting precious seconds waiting for the Pokemon to finally stop twitching in the Pokeball (there's a trick you can do to skip this but it takes plenty of practice) and frankly, you just can't beat the doubled XP that an evolved Pokemon (especially a new discovery) gives.

HOWEVER, if you're using a lucky egg during an event where the Catch XP is doubled or tripled, then catch away!
