How to add Feedjit to your blogspot?

Looking for a gadget for your blog that lists/tracks the locations of your blog viewers? Like the one on my blog? :)

Well, you've come to the right place!

I'm going to teach you how in a few simple steps using as little computer jargon as possible. I might add screenshots afterwards (coz I'm lazy to do that now lol :P), but it's really really easy, trust me! :)

  1. Go to your blogspot dashboard
  2. From the panel on your right, click on 'Layout'
  3. You can add the gadget in any of the boxes that says 'Add a gadget'. So click on one of the boxes that you would like your gadget to be positioned at.
  4. From the list of 'Basic' gadgets, select 'HTML/JavaScript'. Click the blue '+' sign to add it.
The second one in this screenshot.
     5. An interface will pop up. Put any title you like... For example, I titled it as 'Who's been here?'

HTML/JavaScript interface
     6. Then in the box below the title, put this code in

  • Either you can copy and paste the code straight from this gist box.
  • Or you could do this (provided that you're using Google Chrome, if you're using some other browser, you'll have to search around a little to find it)
a. ) Right click on this webpage (the page that you're reading) and choose 'View page source'
b.) Ctrl+F to call up the search bar, then type 'Feedjit' into it.
c.) Search until you find the source code that is similar to the one in the picture above.
d.) Copy and paste the code into the HTML/JavaScript interface.
     7. Click 'Save' and you're done! :)

It might take awhile for it to start building up a list of your blog visitors but well, now you have a cool gadget on your blog. Yay!

P/S: If you're better at understanding HTML coding, you can try editing the gadget itself. For example, you might want to edit the wording 'Feedjit Live Blog Stats' to something else or to remove it altogether (though I'd not recommend it - you have to at least give the gadget its name lol).

For more tips and hints (that are specially explained in such way that people who are not computer savvy can understand it :P), subscribe! :) Meh, I'm starting to sound like those YouTubers now lol :P
